Michael Tait es el Nuevo Vocalista de Newsboys

Michael Tait uno de los ex-intergrantes de dc Talk y quien por algunos años continuo como solista sube ahora y toma el micrófono que deja Peter Furler en el escenario, aunque continuará con la banda para escribir, producir y trabajar en el estudio de grabación.

Después de 22 años y más de 2.000 conciertos Peter Furler, líder de Newsboys, ya no estará mas al frente a la banda. Michael Tait empezara la gira con la banda como vocalista mientras que Peter hará algunas apariciones especiales durante el año.

Peter seguirá con la banda aportando su característica composición de canciones y producción, mientras enfoca su carrera profesional hacia futuras grabaciones de Newsboys.

Michael ha estado en la carretera con la banda en las últimas semanas trabajando junto a Peter en lo que ha sido una experiencia agradable y positiva para ambas partes. Ha sido un favorable proceso a través del que Peter y Michael han trabajado, mientras se preparan para realizar el cambio en las próximas semanas.

En los próximos días Peter publicará una declaración personal en el sitio Web de la banda con más detalles. Newsboys terminó recientemente de grabar su nuevo álbum de estudio, In The Hands Of God, que cuenta con Peter como vocalista en todo el álbum. La fecha de salida de este disco es el 5 de mayo.

Para los que no habian escuchado el nombre Greg X. Volz (nuestro previo post a este), fue el primer vocalista de Petra, aqui la primera produccion de la banda y un poco de su historia.


Una banda de Rock Cristiano con 33 años de historia.

Petra se forma en 1972 por Bob Hartman, Bill Glover, John DeGroff y Greg Hough (Greg X. Volz). “Petra” significa “roca” en griego. Surgiendo de un movimiento llamado Jesus Music , incialmente con su sello en Myrrh Records, ellos lucharon por ganar aceptacion y reconocimiento en una iglesia muy tradicional que en esos dias pensaba que la musica Rock no era una herramienta usada por Dios. Apesar de esa eventualidades gano sobre sus criticas gracias a sus letras llenas de contenido biblico y madures espiritual, teniendo hits como: “The Coloring Song,” muy por encima de lo que la musica rock era. Por mediados de los 80's cuando el vocalista Greg X. Volz dejo la banda y siendo reemplazado por John Schlitt, Petra solidifico su lugar como la mejor Banda de Rock en la industria con una linea de exitosos discos y sencillos y enormes giras. Petra Praise: The Rock Cries Out marco otro giro enorme, sonidos modernos en musica de adoracion que pronto desatron una explosion dentro de la adoracion moderna.

Petra fue nominado y ganador de numerosos premios Grammy y Dove Awards. En 1991, despues de su aclamada produccion Beyond Belief , Petra se convirtio en la primera banda de Rock en ganar "Banda del Año" en los Dove Awards. Ellos fueron tambien los primeros en entrar al Salon de la Fama de la Musica Gospel.

Es un banda Norteamericana de Heavy Metal cristiano, fue formada a fines del 1988 por el guitarrista Greg Bishop.
La banda es conocida por tener un sonido muy similar a la de AC/DC.
Ellos fueron nombrados la nueva banda favorita de 1989 por los lectores de la revista HM.
Sus dos primeros álbumes fueron producidos por John Elefante (Beyond Belief, Unseen Power y Wake-Up Call de Petra) y Pakaderm Records, su sello.
